Statement on Senate Democrats’ “Captured Courts” Report

End Citizens United//Let America Vote Action Fund President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on the new report from Senate Democrats highlighting the special-interest and big-money fueled effort by Republicans to use a vast dark money network to help install right-wing judges who will side with big donors at the expense of everyday people:

“Republicans and the big money donors who support them know their policies are deeply unpopular with the American people, so they’ve funnelled hundreds of millions of dollars in dark money to install right-wing judges who’ll side with them to take away your healthcare, make it harder to vote, and give corporations and the wealthy even more power over our politics. We applaud Leader Schumer, Sen. Whitehouse, Sen. Stabenow, and Senate Democrats for releasing this important and timely report about the power of big and dark money in our politics and judicial system. It makes the stakes in this November’s election clear: we must elect people who believe the Constitution protects all of us, not just the wealthy and well connected.”
