Let America Vote statement on Democrats winning majorities in the New Hampshire General Court

Kansas City, Mo. — Let America Vote Board Chairman Abe Rakov issued the following statement on Tuesday in response to New Hampshire Democrats winning majorities in the state Senate and House of Representatives.

“Congratulations to New Hampshire Democrats for breaking GOP control over state government by winning the House and Senate and returning needed balance to the state,” Let America Vote Board Chairman Abe Rakov said. “Over the past two years, we’ve seen the anti-democratic lengths Republicans are willing to go to secure and extend their power. That’s why Let America Vote starting working in New Hampshire in 2017. Tuesday’s results prove that the best way to defend voting rights is to exercise voting rights.”

Let America Vote has been active in New Hampshire for more than a year — dating back to special elections and the Manchester mayoral race of 2017. Electing voting-rights champions and breaking the GOP lock on state government is critical after Republicans over the last two years have enacted voter-suppression laws aimed at intimidating voters and raising barriers to the ballot box.
