Let America Vote Knocked More Than 200,000 Doors During 2018 Summer Field Program

During its two-month summer field program, Let America Vote knocked on 202,000 doors and made 122,000 phone calls to elect pro-democracy candidates in five states where it established field offices earlier this year. Beginning in mid-June, 807 volunteers, interns and staff members completed more than 6,000 field shifts to bring in those numbers.

“I founded Let America Vote in February 2017 with the goal of delivering political consequences for politicians who perpetrate voter suppression,” Let America Vote President Jason Kander said. “There’s no better way to put a politician on notice than to send someone knocking on doors to help elect their opponent. I’m extremely proud of the hard work that everyone involved in Let America Vote has put in so far. Now we’re going to sprint to the finish line and send a message to politicians around the country: If you make it harder to vote, we’re going to make it harder for you to get re-elected.”

Let America Vote is backing legislative and statewide candidates in New Hampshire, Georgia, Tennessee, Iowa and Nevada in 2018.

Since Let America Vote launched its pilot program in Virginia last summer, volunteers, interns and staff have knocked on 405,000 doors and made 155,000 phone calls. Over 83,000 people have signed up to volunteer and Let America Vote has received nearly 90,000 online contributions.

Let America Vote is actively recruiting interns and volunteers for the Fall 2018 portion of its field program. These grassroots activists will continue knocking on doors, making phone calls and supporting voting-rights champions in its five target states through Election Day.
