Let America Vote Endorses Nelson Araujo for Nevada Secretary of State

Let America Vote today endorsed Assemblyman Nelson Araujo in the race for Nevada Secretary of State. Let America Vote endorsed Araujo for his commitment to modernizing the secretary of state’s office to expand the franchise, securing elections and bringing convenience to voters at the polls.

“Nevada is on the brink of major voting reforms that would expand voting rights and revolutionize elections in the state, and that’s why we need a voting rights champion like Nelson Araujo in the secretary of state’s office,” said Jason Kander, President of Let America Vote. “Nelson knows that the right to vote is fundamental, and that politicizing voting rights damages democracy. Let America Vote is proud to endorse Nelson Araujo and support him with our field operation in Nevada.”

“I’m running for Secretary of State because Nevadans deserve a voting system that protects the fundamental right of every eligible voter to have their vote counted, no matter who they are or what they believe,” Assemblyman Araujo said. “This core principle binds us together, and we must continue to fight for and protect this fundamental right. I’m thankful for Let America Vote’s endorsement and am glad that they too are ready to stand up to assure every Nevadan’s voice will be heard at the ballot box.”

Let America Vote’s Nevada office will open this spring to begin organizing ahead of the 2018 elections. Let America Vote will support several statewide campaigns, including Assemblyman Araujo’s, and multiple targeted legislative districts.

Assemblyman Araujo yesterday officially filed to run for secretary of state.

Let America Vote today announced endorsements in six secretary of state races across the country, and will continue to announce support for voting rights champions up and down the ballot leading up to the 2018 elections.
