Let America Vote Endorses Kathleen Clyde for Ohio Secretary of State

Let America Vote today endorsed Rep. Kathleen Clyde in the race for Ohio Secretary of State. Rep. Clyde received Let America Vote’s endorsement for her distinguished career protecting voting rights, her commitment to expanding access to the ballot in Ohio and her promise to stop the unnecessary and un-American voter purges led by Secretary Husted.

“Rep. Clyde has a passion for protecting the right to vote and has spent her career doing it, and that’s why we’re excited to endorse her,” said Jason Kander, President of Let America Vote. “Rep. Clyde championed an effort to implement automatic voter registration in Ohio to make elections more secure and give more eligible Ohioans the opportunity to vote. She also fought to restore and extend early voting days, which are crucial to working Ohioans. Rep. Clyde is a champion for voting rights and would make an outstanding secretary of state, which is why Let America Vote is proud to endorse her.”

“The right to vote is a fundamental freedom, and that’s why I’ve spent my entire career fighting for fair elections,” Rep. Kathleen Clyde said. “In Ohio, we’ve seen an endless series of roadblocks to try to stop certain Ohioans from voting. I’ve fought them at every turn, and I’m proud to stand alongside Let America Vote as we continue that fight together. As Secretary of State, I’ll be committed to making sure every voice is heard and every vote is counted.”

Let America Vote today announced endorsements in six secretary of state races across the country, and will continue to announce support for voting rights champions up and down the ballot leading up to the 2018 elections.
