Voter ID Fails in Nebraska for the 8th Year in a Row

After a successful filibuster of Nebraska State Senator Sen. John Murante’s un-American and unnecessary voter ID measure, Let America Vote President Jason Kander made the following statement:

“For eight years, Nebraskans have rejected an extreme voter ID requirement because it’s expensive, unnecessary and un-democratic. After this many failed attempts to pass a law that Nebraskans clearly don’t want, it is obvious that the bill’s sponsor, Senator John Murante, has another agenda. Politicians like Senator Murante try to pass voter ID laws because it helps their party win elections–plain and simple. Today, democracy and patriotism succeeded in Nebraska.”
