Let America Vote Announces Support for Colorado Pro-Democracy Legislation

Washington, D.C. — Let America Vote President Abe Rakov released the following statement on the series of election reform bills moving forward in Colorado:

“With the passage of these pro-voter, anti-corruption bills, Colorado will improve on its reputation as a national leader in voter inclusion and election integrity. This legislative package expands automatic voter registration and voter access, increases transparency in political spending, and cracks down on dark money contributions. Secretary of State Jena Griswold and the bill sponsors are showing bold leadership by pushing for these reforms. Secretary Griswold also should be applauded for ending the state’s cooperation with the cross check voter registration program that routinely and systematically disenfranchises voters. Coloradans deserve to have faith in their elections and all eligible voters should have access to the process, so we are hopeful the legislature passes these important bills this session.”

Let America Vote is a national voting rights organization founded to fight back against proposals across the country that make it harder for eligible voters to exercise their constitutional right to cast a ballot. Whether it’s extreme identification requirements, questionable purges of voter rolls, voter intimidation, new and extreme voter registration processes, or anything that makes voting harder, Let America Vote will be there to lead the way against it.
