Maggie Toulouse Oliver

New Mexico Secretary of State

Why Maggie Toulouse Oliver is a voting rights champion:

    • Secretary Toulouse Oliver was a leading voice in opposition to President Trump’s sham voting commission’s request for Americans’ private voter data and has committed to fighting voter suppression and expanding the franchise.
  • “Secretary Toulouse Oliver has proven to be a fierce advocate for voting rights while restoring ethics and transparency to the New Mexico Secretary of State’s office.  She has quickly demonstrated her commitment to deliver secure, fair and accessible elections in New Mexico, and she supports important reforms like automatic voter registration that would bring more eligible voters into the democratic process. Let America Vote is proud to support Maggie Toulouse Oliver’s re-election campaign.” — Jason Kander on Let America Vote’s endorsement of Maggie Toulouse Oliver for re-election as New Mexico’s secretary of state.

Maggie Toulouse Oliver has dedicated her career to making it easier–not harder–for New Mexicans to vote. For 10 years as the Clerk for the state’s most-populous county and now as Secretary of State, Maggie has modernized voting systems, made registration easier than ever and improved the voting process for people with disabilities. Maggie is also a national leader on election security and has received national attention for holding the Trump Administration to task on the need to acknowledge and defend against international interference in U.S. elections. As Treasurer of the National Association of Secretaries of State, Maggie recently testified on cybersecurity before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
